Winners Have A Bias For Action

I got this from Bo's blog and the message really hit home. Interesting read. You may also subscribe to his blogs if you want. Just click on http://bosanchez.ph/ and sign up for Bo's Soul food e-mail. Enjoy!

Have you noticed?

Bad things happen to good people.

All the time.

Did you get stuck in traffic this week?

Or have you ever lost your cellphone—with all the phone numbers lost forever?

Or have you ever had the terrible experience of your computer crashing—and all your files vanishing to oblivion for all eternity?  (I wonder if there’s a data heaven somewhere in this universe?)

Or have you ever experienced your boss shouting at you for something that wasn’t your fault?

Or have you ever experienced the pain of your boyfriend or girlfriend dumping you for another person?

I repeat. Bad things happen to good people all the time.

I can’t answer why they happen.

But here’s my bigger question: What do you do when bad things happen to you?

       Do you sulk?

       Do you complain?

Do you just stay put and do nothing?

Or do you have a bias for action?

Here’s my simple yet big message for you today: Winners have a bias for action. That’s why they’re winners.

I want you to watch this crazy short video. It’s less than one minute. It’s really funny.

But its lesson is incredibly profound.

watch video  (click ‘back’ to return to my blog)

         Insane, right?

But you’ll be surprised that a lot of people do the exact same thing when bad things happen to them.

They freeze.

They get stuck.

They just stay there.

They complain.

They complain to the world.

Friend, has a bad thing happened to you?

       Don’t get stuck.

       Don’t complain. It’s useless.

       Stand up.

       Instead of complaining, do something.

If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, limp. If you can’t limp, crawl. Stumble your way to greatness.

Why? Because God never said that no bad thing will ever happen to you. But here’s His big promise: That every time a bad thing will happen to you, good things will come out of it. Every time! Because Romans 8:28 says that all things will work for good to those who love Him.

How Do You Respond To Fire?

One day, a young woman came to her grandfather and cried on his shoulder. She told him of her many problems. She felt so overwhelmed by them. It seemed like everything in her life was going wrong.

After she wept many tears, the old man told her, “Let’s go to the kitchen. I have something to show you.”

In the kitchen, the grandfather prepared three pots of water on the cooking range. On the first pot, he placed carrots.   On the second pot, he placed eggs. On the third pot, he placed coffee beans. And he lit the fire beneath each of them.

For twenty minutes, they sat in silence as the fire heated the pots. After twenty minutes, the grandfather said, “If you notice, the fire underneath the pots are the same. Same heat. Same temperature. Yet you’ll notice how different things react to the fire.”

He fished out the carrots and placed it in a bowl. He made his granddaughter touch it.

“It’s soft,” she said.

He got an egg, broke it, and gave it to her.

“Hard boiled,” she said.

Finally, he opened the coffee pot—its fragrance filling the room. He poured a cup for her. She took a sip.

“That’s nice,” she said, “thanks, grandpa. But what does this all mean?”

He said, “Child, you’re going through fire. You’re going through trials. Everybody does. But how are you reacting? Are you like the carrot who thought it was hard and strong, but when the fire came, it became weak and lost all its strength? Or are you like the egg that had a malleable spirit and a tender heart, but when trials came, hardened its heart? Or are you like the coffee bean? The fire released its flavor and aroma. Your trials can release your gifts and dreams. Your trials can set you free. So tell me, are you a carrot, an egg, or coffee beans?”

Your Trials Can Set You Free

Did your boyfriend leave you for another girl? You’re now free to find a better man who’ll be faithful to you.

Were you laid off at work? You’re now free to get a better job at a better company or become an entrepreneur.

Are you sick right now? This is a wake up call. Your body is telling you, “It’s high time to care for me.” You’re now free to become the healthiest person you can become.

Eleven years ago, my friend had cancer of the breast. But that cancer set her free. Because of that cancer, she served God more, she loved her family more, and she took care of her health more. She started eating more fruits and vegetables. Eleven years later, she’s a healthier person, she’s a more loving person, and she’s a more spiritual person. Her cancer set her free.

Did your business fail? You’re now free to start all over again and make it better.

       That’s what happened to me.

Three Men Went Through The Fire

In the Bible, we read of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

They went through the fire, too. A literal one.

Because these men didn’t want to bow down before a pagan idol, the king was so angry, he threw them into the furnace—and asked his strongest soldiers to tie them up.

But when they were in the fire, God rescued them. They were protected. Even their clothes weren’t burned. They walked out unharmed.

But here’s the amazing part: Nothing was burned except for the ropes that bound them.

The fire made them free men.

From my experience, when I go through fire, my trials remove my chains. My fears. My limited thinking. My small dreams.

Hey, I still don’t like it.

Fire is fire. It hurts. It burns.

But when I go out of the fire, I’m a better person.

Like coffee beans, my aroma and flavor is released.

I’m free to impact the world even more.

Keep Moving Forward!

Psalm 23:4 says, Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me…

You don’t stay in the valley.

You don’t sulk in the valley.

You walk through the valley.

You keep moving forward.  You put one foot in front of the other until you get out of the valley.

1 Peter 1:13 says, Therefore, prepare your minds for action.

       Have a bias for action.

From Executive To Farmer

When I think of action, I think of my friend Rudy Mallari.

In the 90’s, Rudy was on top of the world. My friend was one of the key figures in the exports garments industry. He was running a huge company and was very well paid.

But in a blink of an eye, it was like someone pulled the rug from beneath this entire industry. China took over. And the entire export garments industry died (almost).

And overnight, Rudy lost his job and business.

From being on top of the world, he was now at the bottom.

Did Rudy sulk? Did he simply give up and hang up his gloves? Did he get depressed that the hand that fed him suddenly disappeared?

       Far from it.

Because Rudy had another love: Farming.

He kept working, kept acting, kept making mistakes.

From being an executive, he’s now a “farmer”.

He doesn’t actually run a farm. But he works with lots of small independent farmers—and he teaches them organic farming. And then helps them sell their products.

For years, he met with guys in suits, ties, and briefcases. Now, he meets guys in torn shirts, straw hats and muddy boots.

And in dealing with small farmers and other poor people, he grew in his passion of helping the poor. Thus, he joined Alay Buhay (If you want to vote for them for your party list organization, they’re #66!) that helps small entrepreneurs across the country.

His tragedy turned into triumph—not only for him but also for many other people.

A True Story That Will Touch You Deeply

I’m going to tell you a true story of a young woman who went through a most gruesome fire. When you read her story, you’ll realize that your trials are absolutely nothing compared to what this young girl went through.

       It was September 25, 2000.

Maricel Apatan was an 11-year old girl in Zamboanga.

On that day, this little girl went with her uncle to draw water.

Along the way, four men met them. They were carrying long knives. They told her uncle to face down on the ground. And they hacked him on the neck and killed him.

Maricel was in total shock. Especially that the men were their neighbors. She tried to escape, but the men ran after her.

She cried, “Kuya, ‘wag po, ‘wag n’yo akong tagain! Maawa po kayo sa akin!” (“Don’t kill me! Have mercy on me!”)

But they weren’t listening. With a long knife, a man slashed her on the neck too.

Maricel fell to the ground and lost consciousness.

When she woke up, she saw a lot of blood.

She also saw the feet of the men around her, but she pretended to be dead.

When they walked away, Maricel ran back home.

Her Hands Were Hacked Too

But along the way, she saw that both her hands were falling off. Because the men hacked them too. She cried but she kept running.

Sometimes, she’d faint and fall to the ground. But she’d regain consciousness and run again.

When she was near her home, Maricel called her mother.

Upon seeing her daughter, her mother screamed in terror. She wrapped her bloodied child in a blanket and carried her to the hospital.

Here was the problem: From her house to the highway, it was a 12-kilometer walk.

It took them 4 hours just to reach the highway.

When they arrived in the hospital, the doctors thought Maricel was going to die.

But for 5 hours, they operated on her. It took 25 stitches to stitch together the long knife wound in her neck and back.

Maricel barely survived.

And she lost both of her hands.

Ironically, the next day was Maricel’s birthday.

She was 12 years old.

But alas, tragedy didn’t end there.

Angels To The Rescue

When they went home, they saw their home was gone. It was ransacked and burned down by the goons.

Being very poor, Maricel’s family also didn’t have P50,000 for their hospital bills.

But God sent many angels along the way to help them.

Archbishop Antonio Ledesma, a distant relative, paid for hospital bills and helped them bring the criminals to court. They were sentenced to prison.

Tahanan Ng Walang Hagdan helped her finish her studies.

Today, she’s staying with the nuns at Regina Rosarii with Sr. Eppie Brasil, O.P.

But this, I believe, is the incredible miracle.

Instead of staying down, Maricel kept running.

Instead of cursing God why she had no hands, she now uses her wrists in incredible ways that will boggle your mind.

Maricel was cited as the most industrious, best in computer, and most courteous in the School for Crippled Children.

In 2008, she graduated from a course in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She even received a Gold medal for Arts and Crafts.

Today, at 21 years old, Maricel is studying to be a Chef.

Yes, a Chef without hands.

Nothing can stop this young lady from reaching her dream.

Real Winners Don’t Give Up!

Oh, it was a real gift.

Because last Sunday, I invited Maricel to the Feast (Note: This is our weekly prayer gathering. If you want to join us, click here for our schedules or call (02) 725-9999 and ask for the details.)

We saw Maricel in front of us.

And her joy, her smile, her radiance was amazing!

In lovely white Chef’s attire, I asked her to stand in front of the crowd. We cheered wildly.

And then I led her to a table with lots of vegetables on it.

I asked her to make a salad for me.

Using only her wrists, she cut the vegetables and prepared a delicious salad.

I couldn’t help but cry.

I looked around me and saw many crying too.

Because we were in front of an incredible winner.

Don’t Lose Hope

Friend, are you a winner?

Stop focusing on your trial.

Stop focusing on your problems.

Right now, you may be undergoing fire.

Perhaps your marriage is being torn apart.

Perhaps you’re buried in a mountain of debt.

Perhaps the doctor said you’re never going to get well.

Perhaps your child is far from God.

Friend, don’t lose hope.

Don’t give up.

You will win the race.

You will win the prize!

In the fire, don’t be a carrot or an egg. Don’t weaken or harden. Rather, be a coffee bean and let the fire set you free for action!

This fire will make you better.

This fire will make you grow.

This fire will make you succeed even more!

So focus on the finish line.

Focus on your dream.

Focus on the prize before you.

Stand up and keep running!

May your dreams come true,

Bo Sanchez

The fruit of the Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”- Galatians 5:22-23

Let the Good Shepherd wipe away our tears!

G O S P E L

Listening to the voice of the Good Shepherd is critical for a disciple. Only when we obey His Word and calling will we graze on green pastures and discover the fullest meaning of life. We may be able to get part of the way all on our own, but deep down inside something will always be missing when we are not living in obedience to God’s Word.

John 10:27-30

27 Jesus said: “My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. 30 The Father and I are one.”

REFLECTION:

Are you shedding tears of sorrow and pain, anger and bitterness? Let God wipe them away. Today.

Lord God, I offer to You my past. Let me live in the present in Your Presence! And let me be excited about the glorious future You have for me forever. Amen.

Thank you Jesus. Amen.

Lord Jesus please help me live this out!

Point out your rules, LORD, and I won't disobey even one of them. Help me to understand your Law; I promise to obey it with all my heart. Direct me by your commands! I love to do what you say. Make me want to obey you, rather than to be rich. Take away my foolish desires, and let me find life by walking with you. I am your servant! Psalm 119:33-38

Gossip Girl?

My friend, Aileen Siroy, posted this on Facebook: grabbed these words from The Nevergirl (and I agree): "I’ve always noticed that the people who are most gossipy, critical, and unkind are the people who are completely forgettable. They are neither beautiful nor interesting. Perhaps, by chronicling other people’s faults, they find it easier to live with their own."

I could write a novel about how much I can relate to this but I won't. I'd rather spend time with my family. Just reposting this for future reference. Next time I complain, I'll read this to remind myself that life has a lot more to offer than the things we say "hmph!" to. In short, naigo ko! And it hurts! Hahay! God bless us all! Good night everyone! ttfn! :)

Help me Lord Jesus!

Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.

GOD OPENS DOORS NO MAN COULD EVER CLOSE

The power of God is amazing....

Good morning said a woman as she walked up to the man sitting on ground.
The man slowly looked up.

This was a woman clearly accustomed to the finer things of life. Her coat was new.. She looked like she had never missed a meal in her life.

His first thought was that she wanted to make fun of him, like so many others had done before.. "Leave me alone," he growled....

To his amazement, the woman continued standing.

She was smiling -- her even white teeth displayed in dazzling rows. "Are you hungry?" she asked.

"No," he answered sarcastically. "I've just come from dining with the president. Now go away."

The woman's smile became even broader. Suddenly the man felt a gentle hand under his arm.

"What are you doing, lady?" the man asked angrily. "I said to leave me alone.

Just then a policeman came up. "Is there any problem, ma'am?" he asked..

"No problem here, officer," the woman answered. "I'm just trying to get this man to his feet. Will you help me?"

The officer scratched his head. "That's old Jack. He's been a fixture around here for a couple of years. What do you want with him?"

"See that cafeteria over there?" she asked. "I'm going to get him something to eat and get him out of the cold for awhile."

"Are you crazy, lady?" the homeless man resisted. "I don't want to go in there!" Then he felt strong hands grab his other arm and lift him up. "Let me go, officer. I didn't do anything."
" This is a good deal for you, Jack" the officer answered. "Don't blow it."

Finally, and with some difficulty, the woman and the police officer got Jack into the cafeteria and sat him at a table in a remote corner. It was the middle of the morning, so most of the breakfast crowd had already left and the lunch bunch had not yet arrived....

The manager strode across the cafeteria and stood by his table. "What's going on here, officer?" he asked. "What is all this, is this man in trouble?"

"This lady brought this man in here to be fed," the policeman answered.

"Not in here!" the manager replied angrily. "Having a person like that here is bad for business.."

Old Jack smiled a toothless grin. "See, lady. I told you so. Now if you'll let me go. I didn't want to come here in the first place."

The woman turned to the cafeteria manager and smiled... "Sir, are you familiar with Eddy and Associates, the banking firm down the street?"

"Of course I am," the manager answered impatiently. "They hold their weekly meetings in one of my banquet rooms."

"And do you make a goodly amount of money providing food at these weekly meetings?"

"What business is that of yours?"

I, sir, am Penelope Eddy, president and CEO of the company."

"Oh."

The woman smiled again. "I thought that might make a difference." She glanced at the cop who was busy stifling a giggle. "Would you like to join us in a cup of coffee and a meal, officer?"

"No thanks, ma'am," the officer replied. "I'm on duty."

"Then, perhaps, a cup of coffee to go?"
"Yes, mam. That would be very nice."

The cafeteria manager turned on his heel, "I'll get your coffee for you right away, officer."

The officer watched him walk away. "You certainly put him in his place," he said.

"That was not my intent. Believe it or not, I have a reason for all this."

She sat down at the table across from her amazed dinner guest. She stared at him intently.. "Jack, do you remember me?"

Old Jack searched her face with his old, rheumy eyes. "I think so -- I mean you do look familiar."

"I'm a little older perhaps," she said. "Maybe I've even filled out more than in my younger days when you worked here, and I came through that very door, cold and hungry."

"Ma'am?" the officer said questioningly. He couldn't believe that such a magnificently turned out woman could ever have been hungry.

"I was just out of college," the woman began. "I had come to the city looking for a job, but I couldn't find anything. Finally I was down to my last few cents and had been kicked out of my apartment. I walked the streets for days. It was February and I was cold and nearly starving. I saw this place and walked in on the off chance that I could get something to eat."

Jack lit up with a smile. "Now I remember," he said. "I was behind the serving counter. You came up and asked me if you could work for something to eat. I said that it was against company policy."

"I know," the woman continued. "Then you made me the biggest roast beef sandwich that I had ever seen, gave me a cup of coffee, and told me to go over to a corner table and enjoy it. I was afraid that you would get into trouble... Then, when I looked over and saw you put the price of my food in the cash register, I knew then that everything would be all right."

"So you started your own business?" Old Jack said.

"I got a job that very afternoon. I worked my way up. Eventually I started my own business that, with the help of God, prospered." She opened her purse and pulled out a business card.. "When you are finished here, I want you to pay a visit to a Mr. Lyons...He's the personnel director of my company. I'll go talk to him now and I'm certain he'll find something for you to do around the office." She smiled. "I think he might even find the funds to give you a little advance so that you can buy some clothes and get a place to live until you get on your feet... If you ever need anything, my door is always opened to you."

There were tears in the old man's eyes. "How can I ever thank you?" he said.
"Don't thank me," the woman answered. "To God goes the glory. Thank Jesus... He led me to you."

Outside the cafeteria, the officer and the woman paused at the entrance before going their separate ways...

"Thank you for all your help, officer," she said..

"On the contrary, Ms. Eddy," he answered. "Thank you. I saw a miracle today, something that I will never forget. And...And thank you for the coffee."

If you have missed knowing me, you have missed nothing.

If you have missed some of my emails, you might have missed a laugh..

But, if you have missed knowing my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, you have missed everything in the world.

Have a Wonderful Day. May God Bless You Always and don't forget that when you "cast your bread upon the waters," you never know how it will be returned to you..
God is so big He can cover the whole world with his Love and so small He can curl up inside your heart..

When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go.
Only 1 of 2 things will happen, either He'll catch you when you fall, or He'll teach you how to fly!

The power of one sentence!

God is going to shift things around for you today and let things work in your favor.

If you believe, send it.
If you don't believe, delete it.

God closes doors no man can open & God opens doors no man can close..
If you need God to open some doors for you...send this on.

Have a blessed day and remember to be a blessing...
LIVE WELL, LOVE MUCH, LAUGH OFTEN

God's message for me today (so sweet, as always)

... that a successful relationship requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. Always with the same person, but deeper and deeper every time. Each time on a whole new level you together open in love and discover the truth of your beloved anew. There is no limit to the beauty of your beloved. If you think you've reached the end, stop generalizing.

Can't wait to meet him. :) Thank you God. Amen.

Thank you Lord Jesus for this day!

Thank you Jesus for blessing me with loving family and friends who lift my spirits when I'm down and share my happiness when I'm high on life (natural high). Thank you Lord for being my beacon, giving me wisdom, guiding my steps and putting up with my silly mistakes.

I'm grateful for the chance to hang out with one of my closest childhood friends. I miss our chats and silly antics. This day truly was special cuz I miss hanging out with my friends. Thank you for making all things possible Lord Jesus. I am forever grateful!

I'm sorry for being too hard on myself and others sometimes. Mostly, I apologize for blaming you for some of the more unpleasant experiences that I went through. The anger and shame remains but I'm glad that you give me constant reminders that life is wonderful, no matter where my wheel is currently at. Life has its ups and downs but I love this roller coaster ride.

All I'm hoping for right now is that despair never comes a knocking, or if it does, that I will never open that door again.

Thank you Lord Jesus for keeping me grounded and giving me opportunities to spend time with family and friends who know me inside and out and are not afraid to point out my mistakes and bad habits as soon as they notice them.

I have my faults, I am not perfect, but I sure am grateful Lord Jesus that you are a constant presence in my life, in my mind, and in my heart. I'm sorry for the times in the past that I have rejected you or your instruments and the graces you have given me. I am sorry for making stupid decisions. If I could take them back, I will but since they're all in the past, I will pick up the lessons I can learn from them and use them for future reference.

I will bury the regrets and resentments but yes, Lord Jesus, I will grow! Thank you for the answers to the questions that I have not even asked, and for the graces that I have not even asked from you yet. Truly, you are an Awesome God! Praise you Jesus! Thank you Jesus! Amen.

My Gratitude List for today

From today's Gospel:

"The most important aspect of our discipleship is that we have been chosen by God."

Thank you God for all your gifts -- life, love, family, friends, work, everything that gets me through the day. Thank you most of all for all your instruments who are hard at work making my life more beautiful and helping me make sense of things during those days when nothing seems to be going right. I know I am not a perfect disciple, not even near that but I also know deep in my heart that you are right there even during those times when I turn away from you.

Thank you Jesus for carrying my cross for me, enduring the most horrible death on the cross that our sins caused, and rising again to remind us that no matter how hopeless things get, you will always be my personal Lord and Savior. No matter what happens, please never let me give in to despair. Jesus, I trust in you and I always will.

When my doubts and fears are all that I see, I will always remember that You are there, waiting for the dark clouds to disappear, nay You are dispelling the dark clouds, bringing sunshine back into my life.

Again, I thank you for this lovely day, which I have yet to explore, for my meals, and of course for my family and friends, who are the kindest, most loving, most understanding bunch of people I have ever known in my entire life. I love my life Lord Jesus and I'm sorry for all those times that I have hurt you and the people around me.

I look forward to the day when I can stand up and say, I am moving on, finally, with no regrets, no fear, no doubts, and with utmost courage and faith in you Lord Jesus. Thank you for giving me hope, and love that never stops, like a spring that never ends. I am all out of words now Lord Jesus, all I ask now is for wisdom, enlightenment, guidance, direction, and healing, especially for all of us who really need it. Also, please bless my endeavors and the people I meet, live and work with and protect me and my family. May your will be done Lord. This I ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

Notes from Bo's inspiring talk -- Be Consistently Aggressive

Learn to share in the success of others.

Be clear about your dreams. Write down your dreams. 7 dreams. Read it everyday.

Know what you want.

In Supplication...

Do I know the power of the resurrection in my life? Am I aware of the grace that is available to me for conversion?

Jesus, help me to know and experience both the power of the cross and the power of the resurrection — the former to overcome sin and the latter to grow in holiness.

God bless!

Do I offer kind words to people I relate with?

Thank You, Lord, for reminding me to offer a blessing or good wishes to all I meet. Please guide me to be a life-giving person to others. Amen.

God's plan for me today

God is empowering you to change someone’s life. Go and perform a miracle!

Lord, use me to inspire greatness in others.

To be continued...

Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I AM YOUR GOD. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold YOU...with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10

Wow! If this is not something to be thankful for then I don't know what is. At the end of the day, particularly this day, all I can say is Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus for always being there! The light at the end of my tunnel. Thank you God for sending my Lola home. I am awed by your power and your limitless love for all of us. I am humbled that in spite of my sinful nature you have never left me and never will. In you I trust Lord Jesus! Thank you Lord Jesus! Amen.

Thank you Lord for the grace to live on with faith, hope and love!

Are you afraid of the uncertainty of things? Remember Jesus who rose from the dead. Have faith and live!

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of life and for the grace to live on with faith, hope and love. Amen.

A prayer for healing

Perfect timing! Today's Gospel Reflection hit me like an arrow through my heart.

My Grandmother is currently in the hospital right now and as usual, my initial reaction was a mixture of panic and confusion. Should I go with her? Should I stay and keep working? Should I break down and cry? What should I do? And so, I ended up calling Jesus and Mama Mary, asking them to watch over my Lola and bless her.

During these times, I realize how helpless we really are when situations involving our loved ones' health confront us. Today's Gospel and Reflection sent by Kerygma Family was a welcome salve to my troubled spirit. The prayer above is perfect for what my family and I are going through.

I am grateful that God has given my lola so many blessings, including a bonus of 17 years to her life on earth. They say after 70, you already count the succeeding years as bonus. I'm blessed to have aunt and uncles who are calm under stress or distress, who know how to handle matters without making them worse, who do not cry at the first sign of distress. Thank you Lord Jesus for being our beacon of hope, our light, our salvation. Thank you also for reminding me that no matter how scary things get, we can take courage under your wings of love and protection.

Ironically, this is exactly what I've been praying for since a few weeks ago -- faith, hope and love. It's comforting to know that God does respond and he knows who to send to take care of us when things go wrong. Thank you Lord for your loving kindness and your gently way of reminding us how much we need to depend on you, how we need to put all our trust in you.

So without mincing words, I declare: I love you Jesus and I thank you for taking care of my family and me. Please heal my Lola, if it be your will and never let us surrender to despair. Please keep her safe, fill us all with your strength and courage and may your unbounded Love heal my Lola and bring my family together so that we may weather this storm together. This I ask in Jesus' name.

Thank you for carrying our cross, dying on the cross in Calvary and rising from the dead -- thank you for the gift of salvation. I praise you Lord Jesus and I thank you! Amen.

Give Thanks to the Lord!

R: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever. 2 Let the house of Israel say, “His mercy endures forever.” (R) 16 The right hand of the LORD has struck with power; the right hand of the LORD is exalted.” 17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. (R) 22 The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. 23 By the LORD has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes. (R)

My Gratitude List for today

Wow! It's been a while since I've written down the things that I'm grateful for. I'm not sure why but I've been avoiding it for weeks now. Call it laziness or spending time on less important stuff or being too preoccupied with work but I think it all boils down to two things -- fear and slight discouragement. I know that probably doesn't make much sense but those two combined can be quite volatile. All I know is that I need to get back into the habit of writing down the things that I'm thankful for because it adds more meaning to my daily life. It's like a daily habit that I need to cultivate because it helps remind me that no matter how bad things go, no matter how awful I feel, no matter how things appear, God always provides. And so, I'm back, stronger and more upbeat! At least, I hope so. lol.

Today is extra special coz it's Easter Sunday so I need to give an extra shout out!

Thank you Heavenly Father for sending our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to save us! Thank you Lord Jesus for coming here on earth and making the ultimate sacrifice -- dying on the Cross to save sinners like me! Thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to strengthen and cleanse us on a daily basis! Thank you Lord Jesus for being our constant pillar, our inspiration, especially when our crosses get heavy! Thank you for being the best role model, for setting the best example, for lifting up our weary hearts and spirits, for never letting go, no matter how far away we run from you, for being our Good Shepherd! I love you Lord Jesus and I always will! Please forgive my sins and iniquities! Blessed be your name now and forever! Amen.

Thank you God for the gifts of life and love, the gift of salvation, which we celebrate today. Thank you for the gifts of loving family and friends who not only understand but bear our crosses with us. Thank you God for being our center. May your love reign in our hearts always and forever.

Thank you God for inspiring us to move mountains. Thank you for sending your instruments to guide us. Please use me Lord Jesus to build God's kingdom here on earth. Thank you for erasing the confusion and the doubt and for standing by me while I was struggling with those doubts. Thank you Jesus for never giving up on me no matter how bad things got, no matter how much I rebelled, no matter how much I fought, You prevailed Lord Jesus. And now, I'm sure that you always will. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

Thank you Lord Jesus for giving me work that I enjoy, people who I enjoy working with, for giving me opportunities to learn, to serve and to share my skills to help others. Thank you Lord Jesus for being my boss, my mentor, my guide, and for sending instruments to help me grow as a person, as a daughter, as a granddaughter, as a niece, as a friend, as an employee, as a Christian, as a servant of the Roman Catholic Church, as your instrument. Thank you for being my anchor, my rock, my refuge. For helping me get through each day, safe and satisfied that I have done my best with honesty and integrity. Thank you Lord Jesus for teaching me the best way to serve.

As I start this new week, may you remain as my center, may you continue to light my path, may you continue to guide my steps and lead me closer to you, our source, guide and goal. Lord Jesus, may I grow in faith, hope and love, determined to follow your will and remain your humble servant. Please cleanse me Lord Jesus, through the power of your Holy Spirit, and help me renounce the things that are blocking your grace from enveloping my heart, my mind and my soul. Teach me to serve you in every way I can and please give me the wisdom, enlightenment and discernment so that every opportunity will be used for the benefit of our Holy Church, and even stumbling blocks will become opportunities for me to put you first Lord Jesus. Please help me never to veer off the path of righteousness and keep my focus on you. Once again, Lord Jesus, I surrender to your Holy will, I deny myself, I will carry my cross and follow you Lord Jesus. Please walk with me always, this I ask in Jesus' name. Amen.
